Michael Corrin  /  Partner

Michael Corrin is a Partner at SCA Strategic, a public/private strategic consulting firm that works with government agencies to stimulate economic development and create local jobs, and with corporations to win public contracts. The company’s industry expertise includes airports, construction, concessions, transportation authorities and municipalities, with services primarily focused on consulting, business inclusion, business development and workforce development.

Mr. Corrin has 30 years of government and airport experience. He served as the Director of the Business and Job Resources Center at Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), where he was responsible for the development, facilitation and management of business assistance and economic development outreach efforts as well as LAWA’s Bond Assistance Program, First Source Hiring and Employment outreach programs.

With his primary area of expertise in municipal finance and governmental efficiency, Mr. Corrin began his career with the City of Los Angeles as a budget analyst in the Office of the City Administrative Officer (CAO), where he assisted in the preparation of the City’s annual budget for the Mayor and City Council. As a senior budget analyst in the CAO, Mr. Corrin assisted in the structuring of over $1 billion in bond financings to fund capital projects for the City of Los Angeles, and facilitated the structuring of financing teams that consisted of law firms and financial investment firms that reflected the diversity of the city.

Mr. Corrin served on the Mayor’s Business Advisory Board for the LA Mayor’s Office of Economic Development; for the Minority Business Development Centers (LA MBOC) he served as a strategic partner and was a member of the business advisory board as well as on the corporate advisory boards of many business organizations and local chambers of commerce. Additionally, he has served on the national board of directors of the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) since 2004, and as Chair of the Governmental Efficiency Committee, Director-at-Large, Western Regional Director, Annual Business Diversity Conference Chair in 2005; and, was elected and as Second Vice-Chair from 2011 – 2013.

For his numerous accomplishments, Mr. Corrin and his staff were awarded the 2002 Career Service Award, given annually to city employees for outstanding City service for their contribution to displaced workers and impacted local businesses in the aftermath of September 11. In 2006, Mr. Corrin was honored as the Minority Business Advocate of the Year by the University of Southern California Business Expansion Network and by the Los Angeles Metro Minority Business Enterprise Center. He was also recognized in the inaugural edition of “Who’s Who in Black Los Angeles” and has received many other awards and government proclamations.

Mr. Corrin holds a B.A. in social ecology from the University of California, Irvine, and a duel master’s degree in public/judicial administration from the University of Southern California.  He lives in Los Angeles with his three children, Kennedy, Courtney and Michael.
